All are welcomed to submit, regardless of ethnicity and age.

Calling for submissions for our 4th annual print magazine is currently CLOSED.

We will reopen our call for submissions in mid-2012. Thanks!

* All materials submitted are considered for both our online and print magazines.
* By submitting you are allowing TAYO Literary Magazine to reproduce your work.
* Not all submissions may be featured in our print / online mediums.

The same rules apply to our online edition. We accept submissions by electronic mail to tayoliterarymag@gmail.com, or through our online submissions manager. We prefer to accept submissions via our online submissions manager.

We are interested in work that touches on themes including—but not limited to—the Filipino and Filipino-American experience, identity, memory, family, culture, history, trauma, and dislocation.

* Remember: For our submission process, please keep the cover page as a separate page from your literary work.

Fiction
Short stories, experimental or interpretive works of fiction, flash fiction and micro-fiction pieces.
Include:
- A cover page with your Name, Contact Information, and Genre of Piece.
- A query letter.
- A 3,500-4,000 maximum word limit.

Creative Nonfiction
Memoirs, reportage, letters and essays.
Include:
- A cover page with your Name, Contact Information, and Genre of Piece.
- A query letter.
- A 3,500-4,000 maximum word limit.

Poetry
Narrative, prose, or lyrical poetry, free verse, eastern or western poetic forms, or works meant as spoken word.
Include:
- A cover page with your Name, Contact Information, and Genre of Piece.
- A query letter.
- A 3,500-4,000 maximum word limit.

Art
Photography, painting, drawing, digital art, et al.
Include:
- A low-res 72-dpi JPEG with a width of 950px (for submission & review purposes only).
- A high-res 300-dpi CMYK / TIFF file for print purposes.
- A caption explaining the intent behind your work(s).

TAYO Literary Magazine does not charge a fee for submitting. As such, we cannot afford to pay a monetary sum to any of our contributors at this time.

Your submissions go a long way in supporting the arts in the Asian American community, especially through inspiring younger artists, helping them to find their audience, to find their voice.
